Azure Ray is the American dream-pop duo consisting of Maria Taylor and Orenda Fink. Formed in Athens, Georgia during 2001, the two first met in high school in Birmingham, Alabama and were later among Omaha, Nebraska’s Saddle Creek scene with fellow bands Bright Eyes, the Faint, Cursive and more. Songs including “Sleep” and “Rise” are credited with establishing the dream-pop genre with lush, ethereal soundscapes and a confessional lyrical style that tackles the most intimate of human experiences: life, love, and loss. Releasing a combined 20 records since 2001, Fink and Taylor have collaborated with Eric Bachmann, Bright Eyes, Moby and Sparklehorse. The two are reuniting to play their first show in five years at the brand new Lodge Room in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.
